Welcome back to our Block of the Week challenge! We are at block TEN already, but there is still plenty of time to join in on the fun if you haven’t yet. We are 1/3rd of the way done with this challenge!
This weeks block will use:
(8) Red/Neutral Half Square Triangle Units
(8) Blue/Neutral Half Square Triangle Units
If you pieced all of your units at the beginning of the challenge, you are ready to make the block! For instructions to piece the Half Square Triangle Units, click HERE.
Once you have your units ready, lets piece the block.
Arrange the units as shown above. Sew the units into rows. Press the top row to the right, then the second row to the left. Alternating which direction you press the rows will help the seams nest.
Once you have pressed the rows in alternating directions, sew them together into the block.
Press the block open.
Here is my completed block:
What I really like about this picture is it showcases the variety of neutrals you can use in a scrap quilt. There are several different prints, shades and saturations, but all of them read as neutral in the block.
You can join in on the fun by sharing your blocks on Instagram with #tqpchallenge
You can also share them on our facebook page, @The Quilt Police.
Until next time,
