Saturday afternoon my mother in law came over to play around on the EQ8 software I use.
I am absolutely floored by the design she came up with.
Isn’t that gorgeous? It was inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi, which uses gold to put broken things together again.
In other news, I got a package in the mail this weekend!
I had ordered several spools of thread to go on my new Pacesetter thread rack. The rack was a recent gift and was looking pretty empty after all of the piecing and quilting that’s been going on here.
I think the next thread order will include something colorful. I have been using Connecting Threads lately, which does well in my Juki.
This time I ordered two sets. One called Salt and Pepper and the other was a Neutral pack. All of the spools are 1200 yards. I also sometimes purchase Aurifil 50 wt thread, this tends to be a little lintier but is much more affordable. I haven’t noticed a difference in breakage or any other typical thread concerns.
Until next time.

I am thrilled that the Juki like Connecting Threads thread–that is pretty much all I use and I plan on buying a Juki this spring.
