After the release of the Sunflower Fields pattern, I had several people ask me about the paper piecing aspect of the pattern. In fact, the majority of the questions about the pattern were focused on the paper piecing. Is it hard? How much of the quilt is paper pieced? Could a beginner do the paper piecing?
I am here to tell you that paper piecing is NOT as hard as it looks. I was intimidated by paper piecing as a beginner quilter, and I found that the only way to get over the hesitation was by giving it a shot.
I’ve put together a short video on how to paper piece, using the template from Sunflower Fields to demonstrate.
Do you struggle with paper piecing? What type of paper piecing projects have you done? Submit your photos to copquilter@gmail.com to be featured in a blog post.
Until next time,
