Yesterday I spent some time cutting materials for hand work. This weekend is gun deer opener in Wisconsin and I’ll be spending the season in an enclosed deer stand.
I am lucky to have a heated deer stand where I can do some hand work while I watch the surrounding woods.
I have an ongoing English paper piecing project that goes with me when I want to just slow down.
I cut my hexies out of cardstock so they stay sturdy. These are 1″ hexies.
Next I cut 3″ strips of fabric in assorted colors.
Then I rotate the strips and cut into 3″ squares. I don’t bother making them hexie shaped, squares work just as well.
I cut from several colors as well as a pile of neutrals. The neutrals will be the center fabric.
I’m looking forward to making some progress on this and enjoying the time away from the office.
Other than hexie prep, I also finished some bow ties for the reindeer. They are all loaded up in the car and will he dropped off tomorrow on my way to deer camp.
I’ll keep you updated on the hexie progress throughout the week.
